Public transport
Lionel Plak is fascinated by transportation: he draws, metoculously, subway lines, tram- and busstops, flight routes and logos of airlines. He depicts all stops and stations in colorful lists. First he makes a sketch in pencil, afterwards he finishes the drawing with crayon or marker. He carries his work always with him.
Lionel likes to travel by metro, tram, bus and train, and prefers to sit opposite of the travel direction, so that street scenes pass by.
His drawings have been exhibited in the Outsider Art Museum (located in the Hermitage) in Amsterdam, in the Museum of Modern Art in Shanghai, and at the Outsider Art Fair in Paris.
His drawings also receive recognition outside the 'outsider' circuit. His work was also shown during 'PERMANENT REPETITION' in Arti and Amicitiae organized by The Act of Painting (TAOP) and at gallery HE.RO.
